My Brother's Fiancée Was The Daughter My Mother Lost 30 Years Ago

Chapter 1: The Woman Who Came Back After 30 Years
My father's 70th birthday was supposed to be a celebration.
For weeks, my mother had planned every detail.
The house was decorated with flowers.
The dining table was prepared with my father's favorite dishes.
All of our relatives gathered together to celebrate the man who had spent his entire life protecting our family.
But nobody expected that birthday dinner would reveal the biggest secret our family had ever hidden.
Especially not me.
My younger brother, Ethan, arrived late.
Everyone was surprised because Ethan had never brought anyone home before.
He was always private about his relationships.
So when he walked through the door holding a woman's hand, everyone immediately looked up.
"Everyone, I want you to meet someone important," Ethan said with a smile.
The woman beside him looked nervous but happy.
"This is Claire."
"My fiancée."
Everyone smiled.
My father stood up and welcomed her.
But my mother didn't move.
She just stared.
At first, I thought she was simply surprised.
Then I noticed something strange.
Her face slowly lost all color.
Her hands started shaking.
And she whispered something that made my heart stop.
"That's impossible..."
I looked at her.
"Mom, what happened?"
She didn't answer.
Instead, she grabbed my arm and pulled me into the kitchen.
Her eyes were filled with fear.
"Thirty years ago..." she whispered.
"I gave birth to a baby girl."
I froze.
A baby girl?
I had never heard about this.
My mother continued speaking, tears forming in her eyes.
"Nobody knew."
"Your father and I made a terrible decision."
"We thought we were protecting our family."
I couldn't understand.
"What are you saying?"
She looked toward the living room.
Toward Claire.
"That woman..."
"She is wearing something I haven't seen in thirty years."
I looked carefully.
Around Claire's wrist was a small golden bracelet.
A bracelet that belonged to my grandmother.
The same bracelet that disappeared from my mother's drawer twenty years ago.
My mother's voice became softer.
"That bracelet was given to my daughter before she was taken away."
My entire body went cold.
Because suddenly everything made sense.
The woman sitting in our living room...
Was not a stranger.
She might be my sister.
Before I could ask another question, Ethan walked into the kitchen.
He looked at both of us.
Then he calmly said:
"There's something else you need to know."
My mother turned around.
Ethan looked serious.
"She didn't find me by accident."
The room became silent.
Because his next words changed everything.
"I found her first."
