My Father Hit My Fiancé—Then the Billionaire Arrived

CHAPTER 3 — The Daughter He Planned to Sacrifice

Emily had not worked in her father's procurement department.

However, Victor made her a company director after her twenty-first birthday. The position was ceremonial, but it gave her a digital signature.

Victor had been using it for years.

Investigators found contracts, loans and safety approvals signed in Emily's name without her knowledge.

If the brake scandal became public, she would face criminal charges.

Victor called it a precaution.

"You were never supposed to be investigated."

Emily stared at him.

"You made me your shield."

"I built this company for you."

"You built a prison and put my name on the door."

Victor threatened to disinherit her if she cooperated with the investigators.

Arthur offered Emily independent legal counsel, but Daniel made one condition clear.

"You don't have to protect my father or his company. Tell the truth, wherever it leads."

Emily agreed to testify.

Victor immediately released a statement accusing Daniel of infiltrating Hale Automotive to destroy a competitor. He described Emily as an emotionally unstable daughter manipulated by a secret billionaire heir.

Several newspapers repeated the claims.

Then a Hale Automotive quality inspector named Maria Dawson contacted Daniel.

She had warned Victor about the defective parts three months earlier. Victor fired her and erased her inspection records.

Maria still possessed a recording from their final meeting.

Daniel, Emily and the authorities listened together.

Victor's voice filled the room.

"If the Sterling engineer rejects the parts, pressure him."

Another executive asked about the fraudulent authorization.

Victor laughed.

"Emily's signature is already on everything."

"And if someone gets hurt?"

"Then my daughter made a terrible mistake."

Emily closed her eyes.

Daniel took her hand.

The recording continued.

Victor revealed that he planned to force Emily to marry a wealthy banker whose family could cover the company's losses.

Her relationship with Daniel threatened that arrangement.

That was why Victor hated the mechanic.

Not because Daniel lacked money.

Because Emily had chosen him freely.

Before the recording ended, Victor ordered his security chief to "make sure Daniel never reaches the hearing."
