John Wick's Son Entered the Wrong Bar
CHAPTER 2 - The Father Who Chose Him
Mason called his daughter, Grace.
At twenty-five, Grace was an emergency paramedic and the only person Mason trusted completely. She arrived through the bar's rear entrance and treated the cut above Noah's eyebrow.
"John isn't my real dad," Noah admitted.
His biological father had died before he was born. Elise raised him alone while working nights at a roadside clinic.
Two years earlier, John appeared after Elise treated a gunshot wound without asking questions.
He stayed.
He repaired their roof, taught Noah to ride a bicycle, and sat beside him during every nightmare. He never demanded to be called Dad.
Noah chose the word himself.
Grace noticed dark bruises around the boy's wrist.
"Who grabbed you?"
"A man named Voss. He wanted Mom to tell him where Dad hid the ledger."
The blood token contained more than John's recording. Grace discovered encrypted photographs documenting illegal payments, missing witnesses, and the names of officials controlled by Adrian Voss.
Elise had copied the records while treating one of Voss's wounded men.
She was not kidnapped merely to punish John.
She was the only witness who could authenticate the evidence.
Suddenly, a motorcycle stopped outside.
The bikers raised their weapons.
The door opened.
John Wick entered, wounded but alive.
Noah ran into his arms.
"Dad!"
John dropped to one knee and held him tightly.
"I told you to keep running."
"I ran to the place you said was safe."
John looked at Mason.
"Is it still safe?"
Mason explained that one attacker escaped and someone inside the club might be helping Voss.
John studied every face.
Then he noticed Grace examining the token.
"The ledger isn't on that card," he said.
"Then where is it?" Mason asked.
John looked at Noah's dusty green jacket.
"Elise sewed it into something Voss would never bother searching."
Grace checked the jacket's torn lining and found a second memory chip.
Before she could remove it, a biker named Logan drew a pistol.
The traitor had been standing beside Noah from the moment he entered the bar.
