Who Is This Kid?

Chapter 1: Kilo's Son
"Then stay off the road, kid."
The man in the black Mercedes smiled like nearly killing a child was funny.
The boy stood in the grass beside his fallen BMX bike, his gray hoodie covered in dirt. His elbow was bleeding, but he did not cry. He only stared at the man behind the lowered window.
"You almost hit me!" the boy shouted.
The driver opened the door and stepped out slowly. He wore an expensive suit, polished shoes, and the kind of smile people used when they knew they could buy their way out of trouble.
"Nearly killed you?" he mocked. "Then maybe your parents should teach you not to ride on roads."
The boy's jaw tightened.
"My bike was on the shoulder."
The man laughed. "What, calling your daddy?"
The boy looked at him for one long second.
Then he pulled a phone from his pocket.
"Dad," he said quietly. "I need help. I'm on Willow Road."
The man laughed louder.
But the laugh died when the sound came.
Engines.
Not one.
Four.
Black SUVs roared from both sides of the road, their headlights cutting through the trees. They slid into place around the Mercedes, blocking it from every direction.
Doors opened at once.
Men in black suits stepped out, silent, huge, and calm.
The largest one walked to the Mercedes window.
"Step out of the vehicle, Mr. Kane."
The driver went pale.
"Who... who is this kid?"
The bodyguard looked down at him.
"Kilo's son."
The boy picked up his bike from the grass.
And for the first time, Mr. Kane looked afraid.
