Who Is This Kid?
Chapter 2: The Name Everyone Feared
Mr. Kane stepped out of the Mercedes slowly.
His hands were raised, but his mouth kept moving.
"This is insane," he said. "I didn't hit him. He fell on his own."
The boy looked at him. "You forced me off the road."
Kane turned to the bodyguard. "Do you know who I am?"
The large man did not blink. "Yes."
That made Kane even more nervous.
The bodyguard's name was Bishop. He had protected governors, billionaires, and men whose names never appeared in newspapers. But there was only one man he answered to without question.
Kilo.
To most people, Kilo was a rumor. A former military commander turned private security king. His company protected banks, diplomats, and witnesses who were too important to be left alive. He did not appear on talk shows. He did not give interviews. He did not threaten people twice.
And the boy with the scraped elbow was his son.
"Where is your father?" Kane asked, trying to sound calm.
The boy wiped dirt from his hoodie. "Coming."
That single word made Kane's face change again.
Bishop looked at the boy's arm. "Are you hurt, Ethan?"
"I'm fine."
"Your father will decide that."
Kane swallowed. "Look, I'll pay for the bike."
Ethan's eyes turned cold.
"You think this is about the bike?"
Before Kane could answer, another vehicle appeared at the far end of Willow Road.
A dark armored sedan.
It moved slowly, almost quietly, compared to the SUVs.
When it stopped, every bodyguard straightened.
A man stepped out.
Tall. Broad. Dressed in a simple black coat.
His face was calm, but the road seemed to shrink around him.
Ethan looked at him and finally sounded like a child.
"Dad."
Kilo walked to his son first, not to Kane.
He looked at the blood on Ethan's elbow.
Then at the tire marks beside the road.
Only then did he turn to Mr. Kane.
"What happened?"
Kane opened his mouth.
Ethan answered first.
"He laughed."
